Job summary

Harlem YMCA is seeking a Program Director to lead Afterschool initiatives across DYCD-aligned programs. You will oversee a diverse staff, design engaging activities, and ensure safe, inclusive learning spaces for children in K-8 settings.

Reporting to the Youth & Family Director, you will manage budgets, track outcomes, build community partnerships, and promote mental wellness resources for families while upholding YMCA values and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience with children under 13.
• Two years in supervisory role in childcare.
• Eligible for NY credentials or education alternatives.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct program operations for afterschool (K-5 or 6-8) aligned with DYCD requirements.
• Lead a diverse staff and ensure high-quality programming.
• Integrate mental wellness support for participants and families.
• Manage site budgets and program reporting.
• Develop partnerships with host schools and community partners.
• Coordinate curriculum and enrichment activities (STEAM, Literacy).
