Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking an Aftercare Aide to supervise and engage students in a safe, faith-filled aftercare program at St. Louis Catholic Academy. You will assist with homework, lead enrichment activities, and maintain a welcoming environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and experience with children; strong communication and the ability to supervise groups are essential. Flexible hours with a focus on safety and Catholic mission are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with children in school, childcare, camp, or recreational setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to supervise and engage groups of school-aged children.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during aftercare hours and ensure their safety.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain a positive environment.
• Assist with homework and educational activities as needed.
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate recreational and enrichment activities.
• Maintain attendance records and sign-in/out procedures.
• Verify authorized pick-up arrangements and communicate with guardians.
• Assist with snack distribution and clean-up of areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized aftercare environment.
• Address minor behavioral concerns and report to director.
• Follow safety procedures and emergency protocols.
• Model Catholic values in all interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
