Job summary

Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking an Aftercare Aide to provide a safe, welcoming setting for elementary students in the school’s aftercare program.

You will supervise students, facilitate activities, assist with homework, and help maintain a positive environment aligned with Catholic values. Collaborating with the Aftercare Coordinator and staff, you will help run age-appropriate activities, supervise snack and dismissal routines, and support transitions throughout the aftercare day while

Qualifications

• Experience with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to confidentiality and school safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision of elementary students during aftercare.
• Maintain a safe, caring environment aligned with Catholic school values.
• Monitor behavior and encourage kindness and appropriate social interactions.
• Lead age-appropriate games, crafts, and enrichment activities.
• Assist with homework, reading, and quiet activities as needed.
• Supervise snack time and safety procedures.
• Assist with transitions and dismissals.
• Follow procedures for releasing students to authorized individuals.
• Communicate student needs to Aftercare Coordinator or administration.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in classrooms and common spaces.
• Adhere to school policies on safety, supervision, and confidentiality.
