Job summary

Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking an Aftercare Aide to provide a safe, welcoming environment for students in the school's aftercare program.

You will supervise, guide activities, help with homework, and support dismissal processes in alignment with Catholic school values. You will collaborate with the Aftercare Coordinator and school staff to ensure an organized, positive aftercare experience, maintain confidentiality, and model respectful behavior for children in a faith-based setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Patient, attentive, and responsible supervision.
• Friendly, dependable, and positive attitude.
• Ability to engage children in age-appropriate activities while maintaining boundaries.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding student confidentiality and safety policies.
• Support for Catholic education mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision of elementary students during aftercare.
• Maintain a safe, caring environment aligned with Catholic values.
• Monitor behavior and encourage kindness and appropriate social interactions.
• Lead age-appropriate games, crafts, and enrichment activities.
• Assist with homework, reading, and quiet activities as needed.
• Supervise snack time and ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Support transitions and supervision during arrival, activities, and dismissal.
• Communicate concerns to Aftercare Coordinator.
