Job summary

Archdiocese of St. Louis in Washington, MO is seeking an Aftercare Aide to supervise students after school. The role focuses on safety, structured activities, and a welcoming atmosphere that reflects Catholic values.

You will support younger students from preschool through 8th grade and assist with snacks, games, and supervision. The position requires dependable, patient, and flexible individuals who can communicate effectively with staff and families and comply with safety and screening

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in school, daycare, camp or similar setting preferred.
• Ability to manage groups of children in a calm, nurturing and effective manner.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be dependable, patient, and flexible.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
• Completion of Archdiocesan Safe Environment training and background screening required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with students during after-school hours in a safe and supportive setting.
• Organizing activities, games, and snacks for children ranging from preschool through 8th grade.
• Monitor student behavior and ensure compliance with school and program guidelines.
• Support a positive, faith-filled environment that reflects the values of St. Francis Borgia School.
• Help with cleanup and maintaining a tidy, organized space at the end of each session.
• Communicate any concerns or incidents to the Aftercare Director in a timely manner.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
