Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking an Aftercare Aide to provide a safe, welcoming environment for elementary students in the school’s aftercare program.

The aide supervises students, facilitates age-appropriate activities, assists with homework, and supports dismissal routines in line with Catholic school values. Collaborating with the Aftercare Coordinator, teachers, and staff, the aide helps create a positive, organized, and engaging aftercare experience while promoting respectful

Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary-aged children.
• Ability to provide patient, attentive supervision.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage children in age-appropriate activities while maintaining boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision of elementary students in the aftercare program.
• Maintain a safe, caring environment aligned with Catholic school values.
• Monitor student behavior and encourage kindness and respect.
• Lead and participate in age-appropriate games, crafts, and activities.
• Assist with homework, reading, and quiet activities as needed.
• Supervise snack time and safety procedures.
• Assist with transitions and dismissals.
• Communicate concerns to Aftercare Coordinator or administration.
• Maintain a clean, orderly aftercare environment.
• Follow school policies on safety and confidentiality.
