Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking an Aftercare Aide to provide a safe, welcoming environment for elementary students in the school's aftercare program.

You will supervise students, facilitate activities, assist with homework, and help transitions under the guidance of the Aftercare Coordinator. You will work closely with teachers and staff to maintain a positive, organized program that reflects Catholic values and supports families, while upholding safety, confidentiality, and school

Qualifications

• Experience with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Patient, attentive and responsible supervision.
• Friendly, dependable and positive attitude.
• Ability to engage children in activities while maintaining boundaries.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision of elementary students during aftercare.
• Maintain a safe, caring environment aligned with Catholic school values.
• Monitor behavior and encourage cooperation and respect.
• Lead age-appropriate games, crafts, and activities.
• Assist with homework, reading, and quiet activities as needed.
• Supervise snack time and ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Assist with transitions and dismissal.
• Follow procedures for releasing students to guardians.
• Communicate student needs to the Aftercare Coordinator or staff.
• Maintain clean spaces and follow school safety policies.
• Be a positive role model and support Catholic identity.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
