Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking an Aftercare Aide to provide a safe, welcoming environment for elementary students in the school's aftercare program. You will supervise students, facilitate activities, help with homework, and support snack and dismissal routines, all in line with Catholic school values.

You will collaborate with the Aftercare Coordinator and school staff to ensure a well-organized, positive aftercare experience for students and families.

Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Ability to provide patient, attentive supervision.
• Friendly, dependable, and positive attitude.
• Ability to engage children in age-appropriate activities while maintaining boundaries.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision of elementary students during aftercare.
• Maintain a safe, caring environment aligned with Catholic school values.
• Monitor behavior and encourage kindness and respect.
• Lead age-appropriate games, crafts, and activities.
• Assist with homework and quiet time as needed.
• Supervise snack time and enforce safety procedures.
• Assist with transitions and dismissals.
• Follow procedures for releasing students to authorized individuals.
• Communicate concerns to the Aftercare Coordinator or administration.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in classrooms and common spaces.
• Adhere to school safety, discipline, and confidentiality policies.
• Serve as a positive role model promoting Catholic identity.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
