Job summary

Blue Origin in Kent, WA is seeking an early-career engineer to support translating engineering intent into additively manufactured metallic flight hardware, including thrust chambers and turbo pumps. You'll learn design for AM, assist print models, and track manufacturing progress. Collaborate with operators, quality technicians, and engineering partners; use data to drive process improvements and help close manufacturing issues.

A B.S. in engineering and interest in AM are required, with U.S.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree or higher in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering and Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of Additively Manufactured (AM) components from concept to production using Laser Powder Bed (LPB) printing
  • Assist in defining and delivering production print models using state of the art software tools, configuration controlled process, and design for AM
  • Learn machine specific workflows and software packages to improve additive designs
  • Participate in company process definition, documentation, and improvement teams for manufacturing processes, business processes, production planning, lessons learned, and other standards/processes as needed
  • Assist in developing manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the full process from print to delivery
  • Support management of cost, quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware throughout the entire manufacturing process
  • Participate in root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and support corrective actions
  • Ability to support operations onsite in Kent, Washington and during off hours (if required) via phone or online tools
