Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled engineer to translate design for additive manufacturing into printable hardware. You will support LPB AM processes, create production print models, and help improve manufacturing workflows across aerospace components.

The role involves collaboration with operators, quality teams, and engineering, with an emphasis on data-driven process improvements and on-site work in Kent, WA. A BS in engineering and interest in AM are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or related field.
  • Interest in additive manufacturing and materials processing.
  • Ability to work onsite and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of Additively Manufactured (AM) components from concept to production using Laser Powder Bed (LPB) printing.
  • Assist in defining and delivering production print models using state of the art software tools, configuration controlled process, and design for AM.
  • Learn machine specific workflows and software packages to improve additive designs.
  • Participate in company process definition, documentation, and improvement teams for manufacturing processes, business processes, production planning, lessons learned, and other standards/processes as needed.
  • Assist in developing manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the full process from print to delivery.
  • Support management of cost, quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware throughout the entire manufacturing process.
  • Participate in root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and support corrective actions.
  • Ability to support operations onsite in Kent, Washington and during off hours via phone or online tools.
