Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Advanced Patient Service Specialist in Fort Smith, AR. You will mentor peers, lead daily huddles, and drive operational improvements within patient service workflows.

The role involves collaborating with pre-certification teams to ensure alignment with payer requirements and evolving technologies. You will communicate changes, foster teamwork, and help shape the department's approach to patient scheduling, referrals, and insurance coordination in a dynamic healthcare

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in computers, typing and Microsoft Office; strong customer service and written/spoken communication.
• Knowledge of scheduling, pre-auth, pre-certification and referral processes alongside insurance coordination.
• Basic knowledge of self-pay collections, ICD-10 and general insurance concepts.
• Excellent verbal communication; ability to work in a complex environment with varied viewpoints.
• Ability to prioritize work and interact with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train other patient service specialists.
