Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to oversee office services, payroll processing, records control and HR support for a department head or care center. This role may supervise 1–2 staff and reports to a division head or higher-level executive.

This position requires strong MS Office skills, attention to detail, and experience managing budgets, procurement and meeting logistics in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of applicable experience.
  • 5 years related administrative or business experience required. Some supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answers routine and specific inquiries when possible; directs inquiries to the appropriate department for further information.
  • Assists in maintaining and monitoring the budget and grant allocations; prepares documents for balanced accounts.
  • Initiates payroll transactions and coordinates with HR/payroll to resolve issues.
  • Ensures adequate restock of supplies and negotiates with Purchasing for best pricing.
  • Assists in planning forums, meetings, and visiting professorships; prepares participant packets and distributes minutes.
  • Develops and revises informational flyers, brochures, and mailings.
  • Researches and compiles data for reports; prepares statistical reports.
  • Checks materials submitted for supervisor attention and data accuracy.
  • Mentors and trains new office staff; coordinates office support coverage.
  • Assigns work, sets deadlines, and supervises staff.
