Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer to translate engineering intent into printed AM hardware and to drive process improvements on the production floor. You will work closely with operators, quality technicians, and engineering teams to deliver LPB-manufactured components such as thrust chambers and injectors.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 2+ years in aerospace, with hands-on LPB AM experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace or a similar industry.
  • Exposure to laser powder bed fusion printing or a metallic AM process.
  • Ability to earn trust and contribute to an inclusive culture.
  • Ability to support production onsite in Huntsville, including off-hours and training travel.
  • U.S. citizen/national or eligible immigration status.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development of AM components from concept to production using LPB printing.
  • Define and deliver production print models with configuration-controlled processes.
  • Demonstrate machine-specific workflows to improve AM designs.
  • Develop manufacturing work instructions from print to delivery.
  • Manage cost, quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware.
  • Perform root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with engineers to educate design for AM.
  • Contribute to process definition and improvement teams.
  • Travel to other Blue Origin facilities for training.
