Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Accounts Payable specialist to manage the AP inbox, route invoices for approval, and prepare payment batches. The role includes weekly check runs and publishing analytics for management.

The position is contract to hire and onsite in Bethesda, MD, with a pay range of $20.00–$27.00 per hour. Prior AP experience and Excel skills are essential, with exposure to Workday or Lawson considered a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Accounts Payable experience OR a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Basic Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with a high volume of invoices (200+ a week)
• Comfortability with Manual processes
• Workday or Lawson knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage AP Inbox.
• Filter and route invoices to corresponding co for approval.
• Prepare batches to be paid according to the corresponding accountant.
• Cut checks once batches are approved by accountants and posted for payment (check runs occur on a weekly basis).
• Publish analytics and provide check run summaries to management.
• Consolidate statements to ensure invoices are up to date and none are missing.
• Contact vendors to request missing invoices, W-9, and COI forms.
• Download invoices from vendor websites.
• Keep track of bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly bills to ensure they are not paid late.
