Aston Carter is hiring an Accounts Payable Clerk for a contract-to-hire role based in Virginia Beach, VA. The position handles high-volume vendor payments, invoicing, coding, and month-end activities using Dynamics GP and Concur.

The role operates on a fully onsite basis with a daytime schedule. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in accounts payable, strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), and solid knowledge of internal controls.

Qualifications

• 3+ years accounts payable experience with invoice processing
• Proficient in Excel with pivot tables and VLOOKUP
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Concur
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of internal controls and compliance
• Good communication with vendors and internal teams

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely payment of invoices for non-trade vendors
• Code, batch, and enter invoices in Dynamics GP
• Review invoices in Concur for accuracy and approvals
• Verify balances and accuracy of AP reports
• Match invoices to checks and prepare payment packets
• Mail checks and file payment records
• Process payments with proper approvals for freight and fuel
• Handle vendor calls and resolve payment discrepancies
• Prepare monthly journal entries and accruals
• Apply internal controls and safeguard financial integrity
• Collaborate with team and other departments
• Manage workload to meet deadlines in high-volume environment
