Job summary

J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College is seeking an Access Services Manager to oversee daily access services operations, including circulation, for both full-time and part-time staff and student workers at the Parham Campus Library.

Reporting to the Head Librarian, you will generate library statistics, manage technology lending, and support materials processing while ensuring high-quality, equity-focused services for a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of library organizations, procedures and reporting requirements.
• Ability to supervise library operations and manage staff and projects.
• Experience training staff and directing work independently.
• Strong customer service skills with internal and external clients.
• Familiarity with an integrated library system and library processes.
• Knowledge of access services like interlibrary loan and loan life cycle management.
• Ability to help patrons locate information in print and electronic formats.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Office software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of Access Services for all staff and student workers.
• Coordinate statistical reports for library activities and assist with budgeting.
• Oversee and support materials processing and technology lending.
• Provide paraprofessional library services with independent decision-making.
• Support equity-focused data-informed planning and collaboration across the library.
