The City of Charlotte is hiring a Police Telecommunicator Trainee (911 Call Taker) to join the CMPD emergency response center. You will answer calls, input information into databases, transfer and relay critical data to officers, and maintain contact with callers until responders arrive.

Shifts include nights, weekends, and holidays, with duties varying by incident and urgency. Applicants should be high school graduates, capable of multitasking under pressure, and able to pass security,

Formación

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Sheriffs’ Standards Telecommunicator Certification within 1 year of appointment.
• US citizenship required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow protocols.
• Proficiency with multiple computer and software applications.

Responsabilidades

• Receive & transfer incoming calls and alarms to appropriate department.
• Enter, verify and query data in criminal justice databases for law enforcement.
• Communicate system information to officers and agencies by radio/phone.
• Determine response priorities and record call details accurately.
• Maintain security of sensitive materials and operate office equipment.
