NC State Highway Patrol seeks a Telecommunicator in Salisbury, NC to coordinate emergency and non-emergency communications. This role links the public with first responders, prioritizes information, and supports critical operations from the Communications Center in Salisbury.

You will be part of a structured training path, starting as a Trainee with progression to full Telecommunicator after completing the 640-hour program and certification requirements. Apply to join the mission-oriented team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and ability to type and work efficiently under pressure.
• DCI operator certification or within 120 days of employment.
• Telecommunicator certification from NC Sheriff’s Education & Training Standards Commission.

Responsabilités

• Assess and coordinate emergency and non-emergency response activities by evaluating situations and deploying resources.
• Support operations involving SHP Aviation, severe weather events, and homeland security situations.
• Receive, prioritize, and relay information from multiple sources to manage communications.
• Identify and evaluate risks to responding units using CIIS and public safety systems.
• Operate CAD, TTY/TTD, LMR, Microsoft Office, Omnixx, and mapping programs.
• Communicate effectively using law enforcement radio codes to protect information.
• Serve as liaison between the public, the organization, and allied agencies.
• Maintain cooperative communication with partners to support coordinated response.
