City of Charlotte–CMPD seeks Police Telecommunicator Trainees to answer calls and input information into the emergency response center databases. You will handle incidents related to crimes, disturbances, fires, and medical/police emergencies with accuracy and composure.

Must work nights, weekends, holidays, and be ready to respond during disasters; strong data entry, communication, and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Sheriffs' Standards Telecommunicator Certification within one year of appointment.
• Must be a United States citizen.

Responsabilités

• Receive & transfer incoming telephone or alarm system calls to appropriate department.
• Enter, verify and query criminal justice information system data; communicate info to officers and agencies via phone/radio.
• Performs call back on disconnected calls.
• Determine nature and location of issue and required services; enter information in system.
• Determine response requirements and priorities of situations.
• Record details of calls/messages.
• Maintain access & security of highly sensitive materials.
• Read & interpret maps to determine locations or provide directions.
• Perform other duties as assigned
