Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a dedicated teacher to ensure students master academic and social skills needed for college success, reflecting IDEA values daily. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree and K-12 classroom experience, with a strong preference for bilingual and Reading Academies-certified candidates.

Compensation starts at $63,500 with additional stipends for certifications and campus leadership roles, plus potential after-school tutoring pay.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience (strongly preferred).
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Licenses or Certifications: Reading Academies certification for K-3 or willingness to obtain TX training within required timelines; bilingual certification strongly preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Implement formal and informal assessments to track each student’s progress and adjust plans accordingly.
• Communicate students' progress with students and families weekly.
• Utilize technology to enhance communication and learning outcomes.
• Maintain a consistent behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives.
