Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Hospital Operator to handle inbound calls from patients, visitors, and staff across our 24/7 Telecommunications Center. You will triage, direct inquiries, and use electronic directories to route information efficiently.

The role requires a high school diploma, multi-line phone experience, and strong communication skills. Training includes day, evening, and overnight shifts with a preset holiday schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• Applicant must have multi-phone line experience.
• Minimum 2 years customer service experience.
• Strong communications skills and ability to work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming calls from Mayo Clinic patients, visitors, and staff.
• Triage calls and page staff using the electronic directory and other reference materials.
• Search databases phonetically and manage pager assignments as needed.
• Handle high volume calls with accuracy during extended shifts, including nights and weekends.
