Job summary

Wexner Medical Center seeks a dedicated switchboard/operator to serve as the main contact for internal and external communications across the OSUMC network. You will handle, route, and triage calls in a fast-paced 24/7 environment, ensuring accurate information flow and timely responses.

Responsibilities include screen patient information, paging, announcements, after-hours calls, and maintaining on-call schedules. Training new staff and weekend rotations are part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for the OSUMC healthcare network; answer, route and triage calls.
• Screen patient information; perform digital paging; public address announcements; document emergent calls.
• Handle after-hours answering service calls and maintain on-call schedules.
• Provide technical support for pager issues; trains new staff; support weekend on-call rotations; other duties as assigned.
