Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to install equipment and perform hardware break-fix while troubleshooting network issues in 24/7 data centers.

You will work independently or with a team, travel within and outside the regional work area, and help keep the cloud infrastructure running for AWS customers. Candidates must have 2+ years in server hardware troubleshooting and L1/L2 networking, be willing to work nights and weekends, and be able to lift up to 40 pounds

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting computer/server hardware.
• 2+ years of computer layer 1/2 networking (including troubleshooting) experience.
• Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that impact service availability.
• Serving as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
• Performing on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
• Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
• Helping to train and onboard new team members.
