Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Data Center Technician to maintain 24/7 operations across AWS data centers. You will install equipment, perform hardware repairs, troubleshoot networks, and document incidents to keep services available.

Travel to multiple data center locations is required. This role includes on-call shifts, training, and collaboration with engineers, vendors, and contractors to uphold safety and reliability standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to travel to multiple data center locations as needed.
• Willingness to work on-call and long shifts to support 24/7 operations.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, and carrying out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to the overall availability of AWS services
• Serving as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors
• Performing on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities
• Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues
• Helping to train and onboard new team members
