Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to maintain AWS global infrastructure, perform server rack installations, hardware diagnostics and network troubleshooting, and participate in on-call rotation to ensure service availability.

This role requires travel between data center locations, ability to lift 40 pounds, and willingness to work day/night shifts in a 24/7 environment. You’ll join a diverse team of engineers and operations staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field.
• 1+ year of computer networking experience.
• 1+ year of Linux operating systems experience.
• Experience in computer networking and hardware troubleshooting.
• Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performing server rack installations and hardware break-fix on various components.
• Troubleshooting network issues and responding to operational incidents to maintain service availability.
• Serving as a primary contact for internal and external stakeholders including engineers and vendors.
• Participating in on-call duties and scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
• Contributing to documentation and process improvements and assisting in onboarding new team members.
