Job summary

Life Skills Autism Academy is seeking a Behavior Technician to support 1:1 and group ABA therapy for children on the autism spectrum under BCBA supervision. Must hold or be willing to obtain RBT certification within 45 days.

Responsibilities include data collection, parent training, documentation, and safely delivering interventions. Benefits include paid time off, tuition discounts, practicum hours, and early wage access.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to participate in background check process.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
• Reliability with transportation and, in some cases, a valid driver's license and car insurance.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification with TB test if not having one in the past year.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks including floor work, lifting up to 50 lbs, and moving quickly when needed.
• Reliable attendance for scheduled therapy sessions.
• Professional in presentation and conduct.
• Patience to keep clients on task.
• Ability to stay calm under challenging behavior.
• Positive attitude and drive to help a child learn new skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
• Follow and carry out detailed instructions.
• Proficiency with technology to record data on mobile devices and navigate apps.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Cultural competency with flexibility and open-mindedness.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
• Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols outlined in the client's plan by BCBA/BC.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
• Assist with parent and caregiver training aligned with treatment protocols.
• Ensure timely documentation following established procedures.
• Communicate progress to parents and caregivers as instructed by BCBA/BC.
• Use safe procedures and report all safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work and therapy space.
• Assist BCBA/BCB in preparing client materials and assessments.
