Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations in the workshop, including cutting, welding, griding, drilling and repairs
• Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into clear work instructions for the team
• Allocate manpower and monitor job progress to meet schedule and quality expectations
• Ensure fabrication work aligns with structural integrity, tolerances and requirements
• Inspect completed jobs for workmanship, dimensional accuracy and welding quality
• Support root cause analysis of failed or defective components and propose design/fabrication improvements
• Ensure availability of materials, tools and consumables required for jobs
• Monitor usage of welding rods, gas cylinders, grinding discs and consumables to control costs
• Supervisor technicians and provide on job coaching, identify training needs and skills gaps; propose development plans for the team
• Ensure compliance with workshop safety rules, PPE usage, permit protocols and housekeeping of area

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding, Fabrication technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in industrial metal work, including supervisory experience
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings, fabrication standards, and welding procedures
• Familiar with common tools: MIG/TIG/Stick welding, grinder, gas cutter, plasma cutter, slip roller & etc
• Good communication, planning and leadership skills
• Safety knowledge of hot work and workshop safety regulations
