Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
- Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines.
- Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines that perform the same job.
- Maintain and repair all machinery.
- Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
- Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Determining the right welding equipment or method based on specifications.
- Identifying the metals and materials to be used in a welding project.
- Operating equipment to cut and shape metal in preparation for welding.
- Aligning components using callipers, rulers and clamp pieces.
- Fusing metal components using welding equipment.
- Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structures to find flaws.
- Conducting regular safety inspections on machines.
- Using electrical or manual tools.
Essential Responsibilities
- Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Set up and weld high temperature alloys in the repair of Turbine Blades/Aeroderivative products using TIG process
- Perform blending repair of Turbine Blades/Aeroderivative products
- Ensure product quality, equipment care, meet production output/pace, housekeeping and schedules.
- Adhere to all applicable EHS rules and regulations and report immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
- Carries out other duties as assigned
