DBS Bank is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President, Full Stack Engineer, to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade platforms within our Wealth Management Technology department. You will be instrumental in shaping key investment journeys across a diverse range of products, utilizing cutting‑edge technologies and modern engineering practices. This role demands a blend of deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a keen understanding of financial products or advisory domains.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design, development, and delivery of robust, scalable, and high-performance full-stack solutions for critical investment journeys, serving millions of customers.
- Drive the implementation of distributed micro-frontend architectures and other modern engineering patterns to build resilient and adaptable platforms.
- Own the solution engineering and architecture for initiatives within your purview, ensuring alignment with overall technology strategy and best practices.
- Champion and implement CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and leverage deployment platforms such as OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Mentor, coach, and manage engineers across multiple squads, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality output.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members, contributing to a high-performing engineering culture.
- Actively explore and leverage AI assistant coding tools and other innovative technologies to enhance developer productivity and code quality.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in full-stack development and wealth management.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience building and delivering enterprise-grade platforms using Java, ReactJS, and Python in a high-traffic, customer-facing environment.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance solutions that are used by a large user base.
- Strong expertise in distributed micro-frontend architectures and modern web development frameworks.
- In-depth understanding and practical experience with CI/CD principles, DevOps practices, and containerization/orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Solid grasp of software engineering principles, design patterns, and agile methodologies.
- Deep knowledge and experience in at least one of the following investment product domains: Funds, Bonds, FX, Structured Products, Equities, Digital Assets.
- Alternatively, deep knowledge and experience in advisory domains such as Portfolio Management, Construction, Rebalancing, or Risk Management.
- Experience in leading and managing engineering teams, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Familiarity with leveraging AI assistant coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Tabnine) to improve development workflows.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
