Vice President, Fintech Sector Coverage APAC (Job ID: 10073278) MUFG BANK, LTD. Singapore Branch•D01 Cecil, Marina, People’s Park, Raffles Place, SG

To support the positioning of MUFG as a lead bank in providing and anticipating key sector themes, insights on opportunities and solving strategic and financing challenges for our clients across corporate and investment banking, with a focus on client engagement, opportunity identification and holistic banking solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Fintech team is part of the Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT) sector vertical within Sector Coverage APAC, expected to demonstrate expertise in digital banking, digitization and the payments ecosystem.
  • Proactively engage and support MUFG’s APAC portfolio of Fintech investee companies with suitable banking solutions, coordinating key stakeholders and partner banks for opportunity monetisation.
  • Develop, coordinate and drive execution of opportunities with partner banks, product and compliance teams, and regional client engagement including with Financial Institutions coverage bankers.
  • Support strategic senior‑level client engagement, opportunity initiation and analysis, showcasing sector expertise to GCIB clients and enabling better risk–return decision making.
  • Engage senior client executives in conjunction with Sector Coverage team members, coverage bankers, Product Office and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate sector expertise in digital banking and payments, providing insights on viable business models, trends, expected winners and potential transaction opportunities.
  • Coordinate stakeholder collaboration to drive outcomes, including client onboarding, implementation of banking solutions and maintaining an up‑to‑date Fintech insights dashboard.
  • Contribute to sector and PO budgets, driving revenue, returns and portfolio allocation.
  • Facilitate global information exchange and idea generation, contributing to strategy development and solution delivery.
  • Support the establishment of the MUFG profile as a lead bank for the Fintech ecosystem (conferences, branding, etc.).
  • Contribute to the development of the MUFG knowledge hub, including credentials, proposal materials, technical understanding and marketing.
  • Support the growth and development of team members.
Key Selection Criteria
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree from a university.
  • Demonstrated high performance from top‑tier institutional or investment banking roles with a focus on Fintech and sector coverage/relationship management; high‑performing candidates within Strategy, M&A and Business Development teams of leading regional Fintech players are also considered.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as a key member of marketing/relationship management and deal execution teams at a leading bank or Fintech player.
  • Experience delivering strategic Fintech sector knowledge and cross‑product solutions, including Transaction Banking and Global Markets.
  • Track record of successfully driving the identification, coordination, structuring and execution of strategic transactions, and a developed network of sector relationships.
  • Practical knowledge of corporate financing and sector‑based insights leading to cross‑product solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and deliver results in cross‑functional projects.
  • Ability to clearly articulate financial concepts and risk‑return considerations in written and verbal formats to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working on evolving sector dynamics, trends, business models and the payments ecosystem relating to Fintech.
  • Proficiency in banking solutions, credit understanding and advanced financial analysis / modelling technical capabilities / valuation and due diligence analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated coordination and execution excellence, delivering positive client outcomes in prior corporate transaction / deal environments.
  • Ability to quickly understand and articulate what is required and deliver on time in critical deal situations, with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in cross‑functional, multi‑country teams.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic business initiatives; demonstrated experience in originating new business opportunities and execution.
