Job summary

A technology solutions provider based in Singapore is seeking a Unix Engineer (Level 1) to support daily IT operations, perform system maintenance, and assist in project implementations. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux platforms and strong troubleshooting skills. Responsibilities include system maintenance, troubleshooting technical incidents, and participating in project activities. This role requires a proactive approach and excellence in customer handling.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience (fresh graduates may be considered).
  • Experience supporting applications on UNIX/Linux platforms and databases.
  • Certifications or training in Windows Server, UNIX/Linux, Virtualization (VM), or ITIL is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine system maintenance and ensure scheduled tasks are completed.
  • Execute OS and application upgrades, updates, and patching.
  • Respond to service requests, change requests, and application-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical incidents; coordinate with external vendors when required.
  • Identify root causes and implement preventive and corrective measures.
  • Prepare and deliver incident/problem reports to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Assist in preparing system documentation and ISO audit materials.
  • Participate in project activities, including requirement gathering, installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Support ongoing maintenance and upkeep of implemented systems.
