A government health agency in Singapore seeks a Trainee to shape national policies for seniors. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, translating policy to operations, and managing multiple priorities. Candidates should have a degree and possess strong analytical skills. This position aims to support the agency's mission to improve the health of the ageing population.
The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. By 2030, almost a million Singaporeans will be aged 65 and above, and there will be an increased demand for aged care services including Senior Care Centres (SCCs) and Active Ageing Centres (AACs). To reduce social isolation and delay cognitive and physical frailty among seniors, MOH has expanded the number of AACs aggressively to support seniors and improved the capacity and utilisation of SCC services.
The Centre-Based Care & Social Support (CCSS) team (in the Ageing Planning Office at the Ministry of Health) oversees the overall strategy, policy, resourcing and governance for AAC and SCC services. The end goal is to enable seniors to remain well and socially engaged in the community and ensure service providers are uplifted to play such roles to support our seniors. Through this traineeship, the trainee can expect to develop key competencies such as systems and critical thinking, stakeholder management, and would have the opportunity to gain knowledge of the healthcare and community care landscape.
As a Trainee with the Ageing Planning Office, you will play a pivotal role in shaping national policies and programmes to address the unique challenges posed by Singapore’s ageing population. Our team’s mission is to enable our seniors to age actively and healthily in the community. You will be part of our team that leads the delivery of policy frameworks for centre-based services.

The Ministry of Health’s (MOH) vision is to champion a healthy nation with our people – to live well, live long and with peace of mind. As an open country constantly exposed to an interconnected world, Singapore faces complex issues in public healthcare. MOH constantly grapples with new challenges brought on by an increasingly globalised world, a rapidly ageing population and rising expectations.
MOH’s responses to these challenges include preventing and managing the outbreak of diseases such as SARS and Influenza A (H1N1), designing a healthcare system that delivers care in an integrated and effective manner, growing the capacity and capabilities within the sector, and managing healthcare inflation. As an MOH officer, you will be involved in formulating and implementing policies that guide Singapore’s healthcare ecosystem.
