Job summary

A healthcare institution in Singapore is seeking an Exercise Facilitator for a 6-month contract to lead exercise sessions for seniors. You will plan and conduct tailored group exercises, manage logistics, and ensure participant safety. Ideal candidates will have experience working with elderly populations and strong interpersonal skills. A basic understanding of senior fitness is an advantage. This role requires commitment every Monday and Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and conduct group exercise sessions tailored for seniors
    • Plan and conduct weekly exercise sessions for seniors based on structured set of exercises, using resistance bands and light weights
    • Assess participants' physical capabilities and adapt the session accordingly, including assisting with age-appropriate modifications
    • Monitor the safety of residents during the exercise session, and highlight any issues to the team
  2. Manage logistics of the exercise sessions
    • Assist in safe set-up and removal of logistics at venue e.g. chairs, weights, resistance bands
    • Remind and assist residents to take attendance prior to the session

Key Requirements:

  • Able to commit every Monday and Friday (8.30am to 5pm)
  • Experience working with elderly populations, or in related areas such as social care services, aged care services and/or community engagement.
  • Personable and patient in interacting with residents, including seniors.
  • Basic understanding of senior fitness and mobility considerations, any fitness certification would be an advantage
  • Ability to work independently, adaptable, and a good team player.
  • Able to communicate in English (additional languages would be an advantage).
  • Keen eye in observing residents and keeping a lookout for frailer seniors
