The Position:

Our client is a well‑established trading commodity firm with a strong presence in the Asia Pacific region. They are seeking an experienced non‑ferrous operator to join their expanding commodities front office practice here in Singapore. The ideal background of the candidate would be someone who has experience executing orders for traders for base metals products including all aspects of the documentation process from A to Z. The candidate should already have experience working in a trading house set up either within a trading house, mining firm or banking financial institution dealing in physical commodity sourcing and delivery. The physical trade flow will be primarily within Asia and so experience dealing with counter parties in Asia would be preferred.

The Requirements:

• At least 10+ years of experience in trade execution or documentation, ideally in physical metals commodities.
• Coverage with products like copper, aluminium, zinc, lead, tin metal or containerised products would be good.
• Holds a degree certificate or other relevant professional qualification.
• Strong background with shipping terminology and contracts, conducting lay time calculations and claims.
• Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills.
• Eligible to live and work in Singapore.
