Core Job Responsibilities
Classroom Care & Child Supervision
  • Maintain a meticulously clean and orderly prepared environment
  • Perform prep-work to ensure classroom environment is ready for students on a daily basis
  • Provide close supervision to children, always making sure they are safe
  • Interact with children in a warm, joyful, respectful manner that fosters their independence
  • Observe children and share your observations with Lead Guides
  • Redirect children as necessary to protect Guides’ presentation time and peers’ concentration, and to maintain a peaceful and productive learning environment
  • Implement feedback provided by Lead Guides, your Head of School, and your regional Montessori Mentor
Support Creation of Strong School Community
  • Ensure interactions with parents about routine issues or anecdotes from the child’s day are positive and upbeat
  • Ensure any information about significant student issues or parent concerns are communicated to the Lead Guide, so that (s)he can communicate directly with parents
  • Problem-solve challenging student issues with Lead Guides
  • Participate in regular staff meetings
  • Participate in one-on-one meetings with supervisor
  • Participate in community outreach, classroom celebrations, and parent education events
  • Actively participate and pursue annual professional development
Qualifications
  • College degree in (Early childhood) Education major. Fresh graduate will be considered
  • Native English / Mandarin Speaker
  • Experience working with children of the appropriate age group (6 months-6 years)
  • Passion for or desire to learn the Montessori method of education
  • Growth mindset and problem-solving approach
  • Abel to work as part of a team, sharing skills, resources, and equipment with other staff members.
  • Undertake additional related duties as assigned.
