• Work with small groups of children as directed by the class teacher.
• Promote the learning of Mandarin language in a dual language environment.
• Follow programmes of work to meet set targets.
• Support the physical, emotional and social well-being of the children.
• Assist staff with minor administrative tasks.
• Make notes in Individual Education Plan (IEP) books.
• Contribute to the CCA programme within the school.
• Assist with transportation arrangements for children.
• Perform other reasonable duties delegated by School Management.

Job description

JOB OBJECTIVE

To assist in providing a learning environment that supports the developmental and educational needs of all the children, under the overall direction of the class teacher and Deputy Head.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To work with an individual or small groups of children as directed by the class teacher, Deputy Head or Head of College
• To actively promote the learning of Mandarin language within the Pre-Prep dual language environment
• To follow the agreed programmes of work with individuals and groups of children working towards set targets
• To contribute to the well‑being of the children in terms of physical, emotional and social needs.
• To support staff with minor admin tasks when not directly working with pupils, for example in non‑contact time (e.g. photocopy, file or complete records)
• To make notes in Individual Education Plan (IEP) books for children as required
• Contribute to the CCA programme within the school
• Assisting with the children’s safe use of school transport arrangements
• To provide any other reasonable duties delegated by the School Management

REQUIREMENTS

• Passionate about working with young children
• Proficient in using computers
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Ability to converse in Mandarin as it is required in order to teach students Mandarin language
• Ability to work under pressure and use of initiative is essential
