Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is looking for a procurement specialist to manage the full spectrum of purchasing processes. The ideal candidate will have a minimum diploma in Business Administration or related fields along with at least 2 years of relevant experience in procurement. Key responsibilities include sourcing suppliers, managing purchase orders, and maintaining supplier relationships. Excellent negotiation and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Job responsibilities
  • Responsible for full spectrum of purchasing process (sourcing, quotation enquiry, price negotiation, placement of orders and delivery arrangement).
  • Data Entry of Purchase Orders (PO).
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing as per ISO guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate prices and terms of contracts, and monitor supplier performance.
  • Sourcing suppliers and purchase electrical equipment, spare parts, and other electronic components.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply without excessive stockpiling and conduct stock take.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and process improvement in the procurement function.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between procurement activities and overall project goals.
  • Any ad-hoc duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job requirements
  • Minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and practices, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Possess electrical knowledge, experience in dealing with freight forwarders and coming from marine & offshore industry will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Willing to do paperwork.
