Job summary

A leading technology company in Singapore is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to manage supplier quality and risk assessments as part of ongoing projects. You will conduct quality audits, lead the supplier qualification process, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering, relevant certifications, and experience in manufacturing quality assurance. This role supports critical supplier sourcing activities, playing a key role in ensuring high standards in production quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, Mechanical, or Optical Engineering; or an Associate Degree/Diploma.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Experience with dimensional inspection and GD&T.

Job description
Position Overview

As part of the ongoing Local Sourcing of component used in the project transfer from U.S. and Germany sites to the Singapore facility, the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will involve in supplier sourcing support, supplier selection, risk assessment, qualification, supplier performance management, and continuous improvement to support the company’s localization and cost competitiveness strategy. These activities are essential to ensure that all local sourced parts meet drawing, specification, and functional requirements prior to production release.

Job Description
  • Support supplier selection and risk assessment activities in collaboration with Procurement and Engineering, ensuring alignment with technical and quality requirements.
  • Conduct supplier quality audits, process assessments, and capability studies to ensure production readiness.
  • Lead the supplier qualification process, including PPAP, First Article Validation, Control Plan, and PFMEA review.
  • Organize and participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and manage the disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Procurement on design reviews, manufacturability, and process capability assessments.
  • Review and approve supplier records such as First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), Specification Review Forms (SRF), and Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR).
  • Ensure supplier compliance with internal requirements and industry standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, RoHS/REACH, special process standards, and/or customer-specific requirements).
  • Issue Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR) and drive structured root cause analysis and corrective actions with suppliers using 8D, 5-Why, or Fishbone methodologies.
  • Compile Incoming QA and Supplier Quality Performance Reports (PPM, NCCRs, SCARs, SCANs) for review and continual performance improvement.
  • Support the Procurement department in communicating and cascading Excelitas and/or customer-specific quality requirements to suppliers. Review and approve new supplier selections, evaluations, and part qualifications.
  • Represent Supplier Quality in project transfer and NPI build meetings, reviewing material readiness and quality status.
  • Participate in supplier development activities and provide guidance on Measurement System Analysis (GRR), Process Capability (Cp/Cpk), Sampling Procedures, Documentation, and Packaging requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining the site Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, AS9100D) and other applicable standards.
  • Manage the Incoming QA Team to ensure timely completion of incoming and first article inspections, as well as assigned quality tasks.
  • Establish and maintain Incoming QA inspection procedures, work instructions, and methods.
  • Train, certify, and supervise Incoming QA Technicians and Inspectors.
  • Interpret rejection criteria and evaluate rejected materials at Incoming QA.
  • Verify and maintain the accuracy of Incoming QA inventory, including the Nonconforming Material Lock Cage.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, Mechanical, or Optical Engineering; alternatively, an Associate Degree or Diploma in a related field.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or ASQ Certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing and quality assurance environment preferred.
  • Experience in dimensional inspection, engineering drawing interpretation, and GD&T.
  • Strong background in commercial, aviation, defense, or medical manufacturing environments is a strong plus.
  • Experience in supplier quality management.
  • Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) process management and product quality planning.
