Job summary

A leading educational organization in Singapore is seeking an After-School Engagement Instructor to support and engage students in a nurturing environment. Responsibilities include mentoring students, designing engagement programs, and monitoring attendance and well-being. The ideal candidate should have a diploma or degree in a relevant field and at least 2 years of coaching experience. This hourly position requires effective communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds. The contract runs from 1 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026, with an option to extend.

Qualifications

  • Preferably 2 years of experience in coaching and working with young people.
  • Experience in educational or community settings.
  • Ability to effectively manage and engage with up to 40 students.

Job description
Role Objective

To engage and support students in a safe, welcoming after‑school environment through meaningful programmes that foster positive peer relationships, school belonging, and responsible behaviour.

  • Engage and mentor students in the daily operations of the After‑School Engagement (ASE) Centre.
  • Design, plan, and run term‑based and holiday engagement programmes (March, June, September, December).
  • Develop peer leadership by guiding students to organise semesterly activities for the wider student body.
  • Monitor students’ attendance, safety, and well‑being; provide termly attendance updates and annual programme reviews.
  • Engage students who drop in to the ASE Centre and encourage positive participation.
  • Work closely with the teacher‑in‑charge to motivate students and instil relevant skills and values.
  • Submit weekly programme outlines and proposals for evaluation.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers on all matters related to the GEAR‑Up / ASE programme.
  • Uphold school rules, professional conduct, and ethical standards at all times.
Requirements:
  • Preferably a diploma or degree in Social Work, Youth Work, Psychology, Education, or related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience manage up estimate up to 40 students
  • All Instructors should preferably have at least 2 years of coaching experience and working with young people in educational or community settings or in similar programme.
  • Experience in group facilitation and programme development
Other Info:

Work Location: Yishun

Contract Term: 1 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026 (option for extend in 2027)

Work Time: Mondays to Thursdays: 3pm to 5pm. Fridays: 1pm to 3pm
