Job Summary
Support surgical teams in delivering safe, efficient perioperative care by assisting specialists during consultations and surgeries, managing patient monitoring, and maintaining clinical and administrative operations within the operating theatre environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist specialists during clinic consultations and surgical procedures to ensure smooth clinical operations and patient safety
- Perform scrubbing, circulating, and assist surgeons and anaesthetists to facilitate effective surgical interventions
- Monitor patients intraoperatively and postoperatively to identify and reduce risks of injury or complications
- Execute patient resuscitation competently to stabilize critical conditions
- Adhere strictly to intraoperative infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment
- Conduct functional checks on emergency trolley, defibrillator, and anaesthesia machine to ensure readiness of critical equipment
- Manage controlled drugs by performing accurate drug counts and ensuring compliance with regulations
- Assist competently in clinical procedures such as venepuncture, cannulation, and wound dressing to support patient care
- Sterilize surgical instruments to maintain hygiene and prevent infection
- Respond to patient feedback to enhance service quality and patient experience
- Schedule patient appointments, surgery bookings, financial counselling, investigations, and reconcile payments to support administrative workflow
- Perform administrative tasks including bookkeeping to maintain accurate records
- Maintain cleanliness of the centre and facilities, including toilets, during office hours to uphold a safe and welcoming environment
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma in Nursing
- Advanced Diploma in Peri-Operative Nursing or Peri-Anaesthesia
- Minimum 6 months of work experience in the Operating Theatre
- Registration with Singapore Nursing Board
- Valid practising license
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification
