Job summary

Job description
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Act as the operator for bulk carriers managed commercially by the client on voyage charter, time charter, COA, etc.
  • Issue voyage instructions to the Master.
  • Liaise directly with the ships and the charterers.
  • Issue and follow up on the payment of freight invoices and hire invoices to charterers.
  • Coordinate closely with the Laytime Pic for Laytime matters and ensure timely settlement of Laytime and Final Freight.
  • Maintain separate voyage accounts for each vessel.
  • Oversee day-to-day commercial operations of ships.
  • Appoint and deal with agents and inspectors regularly.
  • Assist in the settlement of disputes with charterers.
  • Maintain records of off-hire and ensure that downtime is minimized.
  • Check voyage bunker requirements and coordinate with the Bunker Pic for timely and competitive bunker purchases.
  • Monitor ship’s speed, consumption, and maintain vessel performance records.
  • Highlight under-performance to the Weather routing company / Commercial Pict and ensure necessary steps are taken to rectify any under-performance.
  • Ensure that ships are operated as per CP.
  • Maintain proper voyage records.
  • Prepare monthly and weekly reports as required.
  • Work and comply with thefulfilment of Standard KPIs.
  • Be creative and actively participate in Ops projects as needed.
  • Ensure the use of support systems and tech tools to enhance Ops efficiency.
  • Report to the Head of Operations.
Requirements
