Pathlight School

Pathlight School is the first autism-focused school in Singapore to offer the national curriculum together with life readiness skills. It caters to students on the autism spectrum with related conditions, aged 7 to 18 years, who are cognitively able to access the national curriculum but require additional support such as smaller class sizes, special accommodations and teaching staff trained in autism.

Student Affairs Team

Be part of our Student Affairs Team, where we work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary school team, caregivers and other stakeholders to support students’ learning and wellbeing.

Social Worker

Impact and Contribution includes:

Casework and Counselling
  • Develop and implement intervention and care plans for students and caregivers. These include providing school and community-based financial assistance as well as linking families to community help and making referrals, if necessary.
  • Manage critical incidents and crisis situations involving students and caregivers as and when they occur.
  • Facilitate transition support planning as students progress from starting school to preparing for post-school placements.
  • Conduct groupwork targeted at needs of students and caregivers when needed.
  • Maintain documentation of case management intervention, such as case logs and reports.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
  • Develop and implement engagement plans to increase parent and caregiver involvement in the school community.
  • Conduct environmental scans to be updated on landscape changes and mobilise community resources to support needs of students and caregivers.
Systems and Processes
  • Be part of multi-disciplinary team to support student admissions and review, including identifying and engaging new students and families with potential needs.
  • Maintain and review SOPs and processes related to school-wide systems for student well‑being and family engagement.
  • Oversee and manage school-wide databases and providing accountability reports to relevant stakeholders.
Capability and Capacity Building
  • Develop and conduct programmes to impart knowledge and skills to other professionals and stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Recognised Degree in Social Work or Graduate Diploma in Social Work
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in social work setting preferred
  • Highly proficient User of Microsoft Office, preferably in Microsoft Excel (Vlookup, Pivot Table, Formulas)
  • Good initiative and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic and challenging work environment with people of various management or working levels
  • Candidates with no experience are welcome to apply
