Job description

Job Title: Social Work Associate

The Social Work Associate works in the field of social work. He/She is qualified and trained to assist in providing interventions and programmes, performing community development work and uplifting the professional practice in social work. He/She assists in coordinating casework, group work and community development activities and programmes, supporting community events and performing administrative functions.

A responsive, adaptable and astute staff, the Social Work Associate works in institutional settings, communities, voluntary welfare organisations and hospitals. He/She works as part of a collaborative team with other agencies and ministries in the course of their work.

1. Enquiry & Intake
  • Attend to all General Intake Assessments for DSA.
  • Linking resources and services internally and externally according to the case needs.
  • Coordinating between the different services in DSA for Programme Intake according to the client’s needs.
  • Ensure all enquiries are attended to and follow-up on the outcome with the different services
2. Case Work
  • Support the evaluation of casework intervention processes and outcomes for improvements
  • Draft case notes and documents and support needs and intake assessments.
  • Support case and care planning and goal setting, support case closure upon achieving sustianable service outcomes for client, families and communities
3. Programme & Group Work
  • Support the planning and preparation of Programme and Group.
  • Work and coordinating & liasing with participants.
  • Support the implementation and evaluation of Programme and Group Work including processess and outcomes
4. Learning and Development
  • Participate and contribute to relevant workshops, conferences and seminars pertaining to the development of persons with Down Syndrome.
5. Reports and Updates
  • Prepare and collate monthly reports within SAS, initiatives and any other relevant training information as designated or required by the Management or the Board of Management.
6. Meetings and Secretarial Support
  • Attend relevant meetings and to provide secretariat support as necessary.
  • Carry out and implement any other tasks / duties assigned by the Manager or the Executive Director.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in relevant disciplines include Social Work, Psychology, and other relevant fields in Social Science)
  • 1 year of relevant experience. Experience in running / managing cases, groupwork and programmes or a similar capacity in the social service sector will be advantageous.
