Job summary

A leading solar energy company in Singapore is seeking dedicated Shift Technicians responsible for maintenance tasks within production tools. Candidates should possess a Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and ideally have a minimum of 5 years' experience in equipment maintenance. The role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and participation in projects aimed at process improvement. Candidates with a proactive attitude and strong interpersonal skills are greatly preferred.

Role/ Job Summary

We are looking to hire highly motivated, hands‑on Shift Technicians who will be responsible for the Maintenance or Preventive Maintenance (PM) function for the production tools of REC Modules plant, supporting the strategic ambition to be the world's leading solar modules producer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform equipment troubleshooting or PM on shift work.
  • Ensure minimum downtime with systematic troubleshooting method.
  • Handle operations and maintenance of various mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Perform Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM), Preventive Maintenance (PM), and PDM (Predictive Maintenance) activities according to schedule planned by the respective Engineer.
  • Ensure the systems are well‑maintained.
  • Provide updates or reports on the maintenance works.
  • Participate actively in key projects such as cost reduction, system improvement, Cpk improvement, new equipment system development and qualification, new material evaluation/qualification, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Duties will vary according to the project progress and/or the specific goals of the division.
Qualifications
Technical/ Professional
  • Diploma/ITE/NTC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in the field of Equipment maintenance. Candidates without experience are welcome to apply.
Technological
  • Strong knowledge and experience in handling: automation system, cylinder, linear axis, motorsand electrical diagram
General
  • Interpersonal effectiveness - Build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization and outside the organization that are based on mutual trust and respect.
  • Dynamic & committed with proactive working attitude.
  • Strong passion for process improvement, organizational, analytical and interpersonal & people skills.

REC Knowledge
  • Working experience in Solar or Semiconductors manufacturing industry preferred.
Other Information
Additional Advantageous Skills
  • Exposure in start up and good experience in automation of manufacturing processes are advantageous.
  • Knowledge in quality programs, LEAN Manufacturing, ISO 9001, TS16949 is advantageous.
Other Requirements
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects.
  • No color blindness.
  • Must be able to work on 12 hours rotating shift.
