Senior SQL Developer - 180000Q3

Main objective

The Senior SQL Developer will be responsible primarily for development and testing of CWT's Travcom back office software environment. This is a complex environment requiring interaction with multiple teams across the company: Traveler Services, Project Managers, Client-facing teams and technology teams.

Our goal is to standardize the Travcom environment across regions, and a significant part of the role will include process automation and improvement. The role will also include development of automated services that allow for greater efficiencies across the support teams.

Main Duties & responsibilities:
  • Work within a professional, dynamic and creative agile development team to support delivery of major program changes that will bring significant business benefit.
  • Design, develop and maintain appropriately-scaled, effective solutions to support data cleansing, migration and reconciliation activity in Microsoft SQL Server and related tools.
  • Produce high quality design documentation. Share and document system and domain knowledge to eliminate single points of failure.
  • Ensure design and development take into account all aspects of requirements - including data quality, customer experience, architecture, security & operations - so that software is fit for purpose.
  • Work with business analysis and technical counterparts from other product groups to create CWT holistic requirements:
    • Clear criteria for success
    • Expected outcomes
  • Implement and configure new application features at a global level.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings.
  • Provide support for your solutions, including analysis, issue tracking and resolution. Take pro‑active ownership of support tasks and see them through to completion.
  • Facilitate delivery to end users, dependent applications, and support processes.
  • Plan, prepare, review, and execute test cases with rigor and precision, and ensure all tasks are completed on time.
  • Perform all kinds of tests as required by the product (functionality, integration, smoke, performance, usability, regression, acceptance, sanity, etc.).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or similar required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous international experience and proven success working in a multi‑cultural environment.
  • Minimum of 8‑10 years SQL Development business experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Preferred 2 years in the Travel Industry.
  • Strong skills in at least two GDS’ preferred; (Sabre, Apollo, Galileo, Amadeus).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, problem solving, analytical and decision‑making skills.
  • Expert level experience with database structure and design.
  • Expert level experience with Microsoft SQL language and related technologies/languages.
