The jobholder (2 year contract) supports the Assistant Director (RPEO) in supporting different MENDAKI initiatives and programmes and contributes positively to the culture of evidence based and data-driven planning in MENDAKI.
The jobholder is expected to work from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and may be required to work over weekends and public holidays to support organisation events. Although the jobholder is largely expected to work in an indoor environment, occasional travel for meetings and programme visits is expected.
Key Responsibility Areas
Research
- Conduct literature search, environmental scanning, and trend analysis in the areas of Education, Family Development, Youth Development (Mentoring), Employment and Employability, and Lifelong Learning Community.
- Contribute to the establishing of partnership with research agencies, academicians and experts in the four areas of Education, Family, Youth and Employability in the Malay/Muslim Voluntary Sector as well as national level to facilitate work in the Research and Programme Evaluation Team.
- Identify future areas of interests in the context of the Malay/Muslim Community interests.
- Conduct, coordinate, and monitor research projects on issues affecting the Malay/Muslim community.
- Advise the team on the use of suitable methodologies for research projects.
- Project management for multiple projects.
- Digest and communicate MENDAKI’s research findings and trends to Management and other stakeholders.
- Advocate research findings at appropriate platforms such as conferences, ministries, and national agencies.
- Lead the development and conceptualisation of themes for publications and MENDAKI Symposium annually.
Stakeholder Engagement (Internal and External)
- Assist the HOD and manager on engagements and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders such as ministries, national agencies, and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), and internally with MENDAKI teams.
- Contribute to the framework of collaboration with partners/ stakeholders in data management, and information sharing.
- Digest and communicate MENDAKI’s research findings and trends to Management and other stakeholders.
Research, Data and Programme Evaluation Support
- Support policy-ops team in research, analysis and evaluation requirements.
- Manage organisational data profiling, mapping and analysis.
Other Duties
- Provide executive support for Management Meeting/ Conferences.
- Provide logistical and administrative support in relation to RPEO’s publications and/or events.
- Provide editorial support in relation to RPEO’s publications. This includes summarizing content and editing articles.
- Deliverables of Research & Programme Evaluation Office work plan.
- New project and initiatives to build team’s contents and capacity.
Requirements
- Degree in Psychology / Behavioral Sciences / Statistics, or any related discipline from a recognised institution
- Knowledge of research methodologies.
- Possesses an analytical mind with a strong ability to make sense of large amounts of data and able to think strategically and translate strategies to operational and tangible results.
- Effective communication and report writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Strong research experience/track record will be a plus.
- Proactive, willing to learn and able to work on several projects and tasks concurrently.
- Ensure compliance with project timeline, milestones, and budget.
- Resourceful, and able to work independently and effectively with colleagues to achieve team goals.
- Organised with good communication and interpersonal skills.
