Responsibilities

About the Team We are the Organizational Culture Survey and Evaluation Team, dedicated to driving management excellence and fostering a strong organizational culture through data-driven insights and strategic analysis. Our core responsibilities include leading company-wide initiatives such as the annual ByteDance Employee Survey, conducting in-depth cultural diagnostics, and building robust cultural metrics to track and enhance organizational health.

By leveraging cultural data analysis, we provide senior leadership with actionable insights and forward-looking recommendations that support better management practices and a more cohesive, positive work environment.

  • Lead in-depth research and analytical projects on topics related to organizational culture, leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, etc, to identify key cultural issues and formulate strategic recommendations and action plans.
  • Own the design and implementation of surveys, assessments, and feedback mechanisms to provide an evaluation mechanism to continuously gauge the health of organizational culture, pinpoint key issues, and offer recommendations to drive problem‑solving efforts.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders from a variety of businesses globally and cross‑functional teams to understand critical management and cultural issues, develop hypotheses, create data‑driven insights, and propose scalable solutions and tools.
  • Effectively communicate research findings, proposals, and progress reports to senior leadership through presentations and written reports, ensuring that proposals are rooted in rigorous research, data analysis, and a clear implementation plan.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and best practices, share knowledge and expertise internally, and contribute to thought‑leadership initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification(s)
  • Master's in a quantitative social science field (e.g., Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Educational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Behavioral Economics).
  • Knowledge in data manipulation and programming languages (e.g., SQL, R, Python) and a strong background in survey design, psychometrics, and people data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of people data and employee lifecycle processes (talent acquisition, talent development, rewards, workforce planning, DEI, etc.).
  • 5+ years of applied experience in people analytics, or survey/employee research in the tech industry.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data using tools such as SQL, R, or Python.
  • 5+ years of applied experience designing, implementing, and analyzing surveys throughout the employee lifecycle (recruiting, onboarding, engagement, exit) and/or 360 feedback processes.
  • Experience working with global teams.
Preferred Qualification(s)
  • PhD in a quantitative social science field (e.g., Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Educational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Behavioral Economics).
  • Experience working with global teams.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable insights, and to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, proactive and action‑oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
