Job summary

A precast construction company in Singapore is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage quantity take-offs, tender submissions, and project cost control. The role involves coordinating with production and design teams, ensuring effective contract administration, and preparing comprehensive documentation. Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or related fields with 5-6 years of experience in the construction or precast industry. The position requires proficiency in relevant software and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • 5-6 years of experience in construction or precast/IBS industry.
  • QS candidates with 1-2 years of experience or fresh graduates welcome for junior position.
  • Basic understanding of construction drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of precast elements and terminology.
  • Familiarity with contract administration.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quantity take-offs, tender submissions, and project cost estimates.
  • Monitor and control project budgets and costs.
  • Assist in contract administration and preparation of progress claims.
  • Coordinate with various internal departments for project execution.
  • Document and report project progress and cost status.

Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Measurement software (Bluebeam)
Ability to read structural and architectural drawings

Overview

We are looking for Senior/QuantitySurveyor to prepare quantity take-offs, tender submissions, manage projectcosts and coordinate with production, design, and site teams within a precastmanufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-construction& Tender Support
  • Perform quantity take-off and prepare bill of quantities (BOQ),cost estimates, and quotations for precast components (e.g., walls, slabs,beams, columns, staircases).
  • Review project drawingsand specifications to identifyprecast scope.
  • Perform material take-offs (MTO) based on structural and shopdrawings.
  • Support in preparing tender documentation and cost breakdowns.
2. Project Cost Control
  • Assist in preparing and updating project cost budgets.
  • Monitor and track production costs, material usage, anddelivery costs.
  • Collect and verify supplier and subcontractor quotations forcomparison.
3. ContractAdministration
  • Support in preparing progress claims to clients and verifyingsubcontractor claims.
  • Maintain contract records, variations, and documentation.
  • Assist in identifying, preparing, and submitting VOs (VariationOrders).
4. Coordination WithInternal Departments
  • Work closely with:
  • Engineering/Design team for drawing updatesand quantity revisions.
  • Production team for tracking precastelement production volume.
  • Site team for delivery scheduling,installation progress, and measurement verification.
5. Documentation &Reporting
  • Prepare weekly/monthly cost and progress reports.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audit and project tracking.
  • Assist in updating project cash flow forecasts.
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, ConstructionManagement, or related field.
  • 5-6 years of experience in construction or precast/IBSindustry. QSes with 1-2 years of experience / fresh graduates are welcomefor the junior position.
