Overview

Objective: Oversees process safety efforts to prevent major accidents, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve operational and SHE performance through expert guidance and continuous improvement of safety systems

Responsibilities

Jobscope:

  • Responsible for leading and supporting the terminals in compliance with regulatory requirements and the organization’s standards
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and company policies through audits and inspections.
  • Maintain and govern the Safety Case framework, including submissions, approvals, RPs, and IPs.
  • Provide expertise on MOM safety regulations and process safety in projects and commercial matters.
  • Guide terminal teams to enhance SHE performance in line with organizational goals.

Responsible for Process Safety Development

  • Design and implement safety systems to prevent incidents and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical process safety support to management, engineering, and operations.
  • Assist in verifying terminal compliance with legal and corporate safety requirements.
  • Support terminal teams in improving SHE performance.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and recommend actions.

Responsible for leading & supporting in risk assessment

  • Lead PHAs (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA, QRA) to identify and assess process risks.
  • Ensure risks are reduced to ALARP levels.
  • Develop and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

Responsible for driving process safety improvements

  • Identify and implement process safety improvements and best practices.
  • Develop and deliver training on process safety procedures.
Requirements
  • Possess Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Chemical, Safety Engineering, or related SHE fields.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in oil, gas, petrochemical industry, or process safety management.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in process safety, focusing on hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex safety issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal, ability to work independently and as part of a team
