Job description

Our client, a well-known consultancy firm in the construction industry, is looking for candidates for the Senior/Principal Quantity Surveyor position.

Job Responsibilities

• To lead and guide a team of quantity surveyors to ensure project requirements are met for the assigned projects.
• To be involved in and supervise the performance of pre-contract functions involving estimation of project costs, cost planning and control, preparation of tender documents, value engineering exercise, contract documentation and other pre-contract related activities.
• To be involved in and supervise post-contract functions involving progress payment valuation and recommendation, valuation of variations, settlement of variation claims with contractors, settlement of final account and other post-contract related activities.
• Assume the role of Lead QS for projects undertaken by his/her team of quantity surveyors and attend all client/consultants meetings and other meetings as required.
• To provide contractual advice and contractual claims management.
• Collaborate with peers from other disciplines in both the pre-contract and post-contract functions of projects.
• To assist in bid preparation.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying/Building or equivalent.
• 10 - 15 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience working in a consulting firm with a proven track record in major public sector development projects.
• Conversant with the Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract (PSSCOC).
• SISV and/or RICS professional membership.
